Animal Care Services will migrate to Canvas on July 1

June 12, 2018

The University of British Columbia selected Canvas in 2017 as its next learning management system. Canvas will be the officially supported learning management system and will fully replace Connect (Blackboard Learn).

Animal Care Services (ACS) will be fully transitioning our training content from Connect to Canvas on July 1, 2018. On that date, animal care training courses in Connect will no longer be available for new self-enrollment by students. Students currently enrolled in a Connect training will have until August 31, 2018 to access that content. After that date, Connect will no longer be available for active instruction.

We’re excited about our move to Canvas! The new online platform offers a mobile-friendly, intuitive interface that lets you spend more time learning and finishing course modules and less time figuring out how to find what you need.

Below are ACS-specific Frequently Asked Questions about Canvas—the learning management system that will be replacing Connect at UBC.
