The veterinary services team includes Clinical Veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), the Project Manager, Training Team, and Diagnostic Services in Animal Care Services.
Our highly skilled RVTs are led by Dr. Laura Mowbray and are available on a fee-for-service basis for all animal researchers. Services can be performed either at the Centre for Comparative Medicine or at the facility of choice. Please direct your requests for technical services to anca.orders@ubc.ca. A completed Technical Services Request Form must accompany each request.
Our specially trained veterinary technicians can perform a variety of services for investigators. Services include:
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Surgery and post-operative care
- Catheterization and blood collection
Services are billed on a time and materials basis. Contact the Project team at acs.projects@ubc.ca for more information.
Notice requirements
Routine requests must be submitted two weeks before service is required. Requests for services outside regular operating hours (including holidays) and non-routine requests should be submitted at least one month in advance of the requested service.
With the addition of a dual-headed microscope, we are expanding our model development and training program.
