Mosaic Vivarium users will not have access to the application from December 13, 2018 5:00 p.m. until December 14, 2018 5:00 a.m. PST. This will affect all campus and remote users who need access to this system. During this time, all Mosaic data currently hosted in the United States will be migrated to a Canadian data center. A separate communication will go out closer to the actual date. All other IT services will be unaffected.
Over the past year, Animal Care Services has worked closely with UBC IT and Mosaic Vivarium’s vendor Virtual Chemistry to improve animal research data security on behalf of all UBC Mosaic licensees and users.

What’s Next?
In 2019, Animal Care Services and UBC IT are working to integrate Mosaic Vivarium with Campus-Wide Login (CWL) to allow for secure single sign-on. This will enable access to UBC’s online applications with one username and password.
In addition to these security measures, we are working with Virtual Chemistry on enhancing the functionality of Mosaic Vivarium. These changes include direct integration with RISe (protocol management system), improvements in the ordering process, and better service tracking. We will keep you informed through email and the Animal Care Services website (News + Events).
