DERC Training: New Certification Required by March 31

The UBC Dairy Education and Research Centre (DERC) has launched a mandatory online training program for all users. Effective March 31, 2026, certification is required before participating in or supporting any DERC-associated cattle research activities.

The 4-5 hour course covers cattle handling, safety, biosecurity, CCAC ethics, and DERC governance, with hands-on training and quizzes. All content aligns with ACC standards and evidence-based animal welfare principles.

Enroll in the DERC Cattle Handling course via the Workplace Learning Ecosystem (WPL) and complete it by March 31, 2026 to maintain eligibility for DERC-supported research activities.
