Our Code of Conduct

We are a community built on a shared commitment to a culture of care. Animal Care Services maintains a reputation for excellence because members of our community are committed to the principles outlined in our Code of Conduct.

The ACS Code of Conduct expands on UBC’s Expectations for Faculty and Staff to include specific information related to our roles in caring for and working with animals. In addition to establishing community standards and expectations, the Code of Conduct includes values and ethical principles that will support our mission: creating a culture of care where animals, people, and research thrive. All members of our Animal Care Services community share the responsibility to maintain a culture of care. This shared responsibility to prioritize good animal and people welfare forms the foundation of our Code of Conduct.
